Agentic AI Workflow for Mortgage Operations
Scope of work
Fintor set out to replace one of the most document-heavy, manually intensive processes in consumer finance, mortgage origination and processing, with an actual AI workforce rather than a single automation feature. That's a different problem than a chatbot or a script: a real mortgage file moves through intake, verification, underwriting conditions, disclosures, closing, and funding, touching different specialists, systems of record, and compliance requirements at every stage.
An agentic system covering that whole span had to behave less like a script and more like a new hire: read a file, know what's missing, take the next correct action inside whatever system the lender already used, whether that's Encompass, Salesforce, Five9, Polly, or Blend, and know when to hand a decision back to a human rather than guessing. It also had to do this without asking high-volume lenders to rip out and replace the core systems their operations already depended on.
Agents mapped to real loan stages. We built the agentic workflow behind Fintor's AI workforce as a set of purpose-built agents tied to actual stages of a loan file rather than generic task automation: a Loan Officer Assistant handling document intake, borrower follow-up, and gap analysis; a Processor Assistant managing third-party orders and clearing conditions; Predictive Conditioning that flags likely underwriting conditions before they cause rework; and a Closing Agent coordinating documents, scheduling, and stakeholders through funding.
Integration without rip-and-replace. High-volume lenders weren't going to migrate off their existing stack for this. We built the workflow to connect directly into a lender's existing LOS, CRM, and contact center, systems like Encompass, Salesforce, Five9, Polly, and Blend, through APIs and pre-built connectors, so agents could go live inside a lender's real environment in days rather than requiring a multi-month implementation.
Human-in-the-loop and auditability. Autonomous doesn't mean unsupervised. We built approval chains, exception routing, and detailed change logs into every automated action, along with role-based access control and graceful fallback behavior for when a workflow hits something it isn't confident handling, backed by SOC 2 Type II certification.
Fintor's agentic AI workforce has been featured in Forbes, TechCrunch, Inman, and Business Insider, and now runs inside high-volume retail and wholesale lending operations, moving loan files from application to close with AI agents handling the repetitive middle of the process and humans staying in control of the decisions that need them.
Because the workflow was architected around integration rather than replacement, lenders have been able to bring Fintor's AI agents into their existing Encompass, Salesforce, and contact center environments without the multi-quarter migration that a typical core-system change would otherwise require.
